Tron Foundation recently, on September 27, provided more detailed and deeper information on the company plans to integrate with BitTorrent platform which was acquired earlier. As reported by the company in an official press release, the new integration will take place under the name of Project Atlas which will actually be the combination of the two platforms. The aim of the result of this cooperation will reportedly be creating a new content sharing ecosystem that will use Tron’s TRX tokens as its native currency.
The CEO and co-founder of Tron, Justin Sun commented on the project description and provided more info on it stating that “the product will feature faster downloads, more seeds, no mining, and backward compatibility… The final goal of the project is to eventually empower all content creators and their communities by eliminating the middleman and enabling content creators to distribute directly to users”.
The official information released by the company also informed that as a result of the Project, the users will have the opportunity to “create token incentives to obtain special services and features, including faster downloading speeds. Activities that support the ecosystem, including seeding downloads will be rewarded with TRX tokens”.
In addition, a comprehensive and even more detailed explanation of the new planned features of the Project will be given in a YouTube presentation by the company which is to go live a day after the original announcement, on September 28.
As reported earlier, the original acquisition of BitTorrent by Tron took place over two months ago, back in July 2018. Since then the community and field enthusiasts have been waiting for more details on the further development of the cooperation between the two platforms.
