Yesterday, on September 19, major cryptocurrency exchanger, OKCoin announced that the platform will be listing five new top cryptocurrencies. According to the official information, the list was completed by Ripple (XRP), Stellar Lumens (XLM), Cardano (ADA), Zcash (ZEC) and 0x (ZRX). The source also informed that the newly supported digital currencies will have the pairs with USD, Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH).
Tim Bynn, the CEO of OKCoin shared an official comment on listing the five important digital currencies stating: “we are very pleased to welcome these five new cryptocurrencies and all of the communities that trade them. As we build out the broadest set of financial products on a globally regulated exchange, we are committed to expanding the trading pairs for our customers, while bringing tokens to the exchange that offer utility, value and demonstrable use cases. Today’s announcement signifies a giant step forward for the entire ecosystem”.
The official message by the company also stated that traders and investors from the U.S. will now be able to buy and sell the listed pairs via OKCoin’s licensed exchange platform. Meanwhile, the platform informed that fiat currency and tokens pairing will be available to the residents of California only.
OKCoin earlier announced that the platform would be expanding to 20 more U.S. states while confirming that they have been closely working with the regulatory bodies in each targeted state.
Furthermore, the exchanger is reportedly in the process of applying for a new license called Money Transmittal Licenses in the remaining states of the country. Once the licence is obtained by the exchanger, the platform will be able to offer crypto-to-crypto and fiat-crypto trading. In addition, it will be able to open trading in the additional states as the legal aspects are covered. The company promised to make a separate announcement regarding this in the future.
