Justin Sun, the co-founder and CEO of the Tron Foundation, recently provided important insights into new projects of the company stating that they are working towards creating a custom token which will power the BitTorrent network. Sun also confirmed that they have the main aim of providing users with a clear incentive in order for them to be able to participate in the new project.
The recent announcement will hence mean that all the users who share files on BitTorrent would be receiving a reward that is related to the bandwidth that they provide. “Project Atlas will connect the BitTorrent peer-to-peer network and the Tron blockchain network via a set of BitTorrent protocol extensions. A custom token and an in-client token economy will address existing limitations and open a new economy for the exchange for value for resources on a global scale”, stated Sun.
Users of the platform will have the opportunity to continue seeding the file even after the process of downloading is completed. There will additionally be specially developed tokens for the users which will allow them run clients on faster networks. The torrents hence will be seeded for much longer period of time. In addition, the company also promises even faster download speeds for all the users as the network will be working even more efficiently.
As reported earlier, Tron Foundation bought the decentralized file-sharing platform BitTorrent for estimated amount of $100 million.
While the official release of the virtual machine was earlier confirmed by the company, there are many important and promising developments expected for the company for the future. According to the official information passed by the company, Tron’s mainnet, which is called Odyssey 3.0, will soon be releasing the final code for the exchangers after which nodes and wallets can be upgraded.
