Founder and CEO of Tron, Justin Sun recently made an interesting post on his official Twitter page, highlighting that Bitcoin’s unknown creator, known as Satoshi Nakamoto was actually interested in creating “a new electronic cash system that’s fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party”, which possesses the same idea as the newly introduced Atlas project by Tron.
Nakamoto reportedly wrote several emails back in 2008, where the creator would express interest in the file-sharing protocol of BitTorrent that was recently acquired by Tron. Based on the official letters, Nakamoto highlighted that peer-to-peer network had a huge potential to give a digital currency monetary value while bringing BitTorrent as a perfect example for such development.
One of Nakamoto’s emails stated: “For transferable proof of work tokens to have value, they must have monetary value. To have monetary value, they must be transferred within a very large network – for example a file trading network akin to BitTorrent… Governments are good at cutting off the heads of centrally controlled networks like Napster, but pure P2P networks like Gnutella and Tor seem to be holding their own”.
Earlier Justin Sun shared his vision on the ways of integrating Tron protocol into BitTorrent in order to reward users who share content. Sun’s statement said: “at this point, there is no incentive for peers who have completed downloading to continue to seed. We intend to extend the rewards to peers who seed torrents, infusing more resources into the current ecosystem… Hundreds of millions of BT users across the globe will become part of the Tron ecosystem. BitTorrent will be the largest application on the Tron network, which will allow Tron to pass Ethereum on daily transactions and become the most influential public chain in the world”.
As promised by the CEO, integration of BitTorrent will offer wider range of new possibilities to global payment and settlement of the Tron online content. In this way the content creators will have great possibilities to reach hundreds of millions of global users through this decentralized network without any middle companies or platforms.
