Tron Foundation Announces BitTorrent’s Candidacy for Super Representative Elections

Tron Foundation recently announced that BitTorrent, which is Tron’s newly acquired company, has become an official candidate for Super Representative elections. The official announcement was made by the company on their Twitter page on July 26, which was also mentioned by the founder and CEO of Tron, Justin Sun later the same day.

As of today, there are more than 61 candidates for the Super Representative elections. As BitTorrent currently aims at becoming a part of Tron community, the key objective of the company here will become displaying “Tron’s inclusiveness and openness as a decentralized and autonomous community”.

In case the company is successful to become a new SR member of the Tron Foundation, BitTorrent will be dedicated to taking the important role the future governance structure of the company. In addition, as a new SR, BitTorrent will be representing the general opinion of the people while acting as “guardians of the Tron network and actively participate in the calculation and validation of the network”.

Some of the key information about BitTorrent, and general highlights on the company were also provided in the official announcement by the Foundation. After highlighting the main advantages and key opportunities of the company, the article continued stating that a new cooperation between Tron and BitTorrent aims at contributing the brighter nowadays internet. In addition, as BitTorrent may be elected to become a new SR for Tron, it will aim at making internet more democratic, free and decentralized.

“BitTorrent is perhaps the most qualified super representative candidate as it runs an extensive infrastructure to support a massive worldwide user base, and its team is comprised of the most experienced in decentralized protocol technology”, concluded the official announcement.
