CEO of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson recently tweeted on his official page clarifying that IOHK and Tron are not moving toward a partnership or collaboration any time soon. Earlier, as may be known to the industry fans, Hoskinson posted a message on his Twitter page, which was addressed to Tron’s founder and CEO, Justin Sun. The message was a general recommendation to Sun to use Mantis over Ethereum Java.
The earlier original post by Hoskinson stated: “(Justin Sun) you guys should use our Mantis: the code is much better, security audited and consensus is pluggable for DPoS protocol”.
After this post many followers started to anticipate a future possible partnership between the two companies. There have been active discussions among the holders and the followers who were arguing a rumor of possible cooperation.
However the recent post by Hoskinson was there to inform that there is still no partnership planned for the two companies. The CEO’s new post on Twitter stated: “Ok – final final – housekeeping piece of info. There is no partnership or collaboration with Tron. There is no endorsement of Tron. I just recommended to Justin to use Mantis as EthereumJ isn’t a solid or safe codebase to work with and they are building on the JVM”.
Mantis is an Ethereum client project that was built exclusively for Ethereum Classic. The beta version of the project was released back in August 2017 after what it was made available for the entire user-base of Ethereum Classic. It was integrated with Cardano’s Daedalus wallet where Cardano’s native coin ADA used to be stored in. Hoskinson earlier also informed the followers that Mantis is written in Scala, which is ‘the most concise and elegant Ethereum full node running at around only 12,000 lines of code’.
