The notorious Portuguese footballer Luìs Figo— winner of both the 2000 Ballon d’Or and the 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year awards — has become the latest athlete to turn Initial Coin Offering (ICO) promoter.
The footballer star has signed on for use as brand ambassador for Stryking Entertainment.
On the official website we can read what is this company :
“Stryking Entertainment specializes in sports fan engagement and monetization by combining the real and virtual world to create genuine interaction opportunities for fans, stars and brands. Founded 2012 in Berlin, Stryking Entertainment develops and operates the innovative platform Football-Stars, a thrilling and diversified gaming experience on web and mobile to soccer fans in Europe.”
Is that what he wants? Of course. In a statement accompanying the announcement of the Figo’s involvement, he said:
“When I heard about Football-Stars for the first time I immediately liked the idea. Football becomes more and more data driven with detailed statistics about all aspects of the game – this is what Stryking’s platform utilizes to create a compelling fan experience. I am happy to support the experienced team at Stryking and spread the word about their platform that allows fans to engage with the teams and players they are backing.. With the upcoming Token Sale Event, Stryking will scale tremendously and I am excited to be part of this journey””
As appears, Figo’s approval is the second important announcement made by Stryking Entertainment this year.
Indeed, in January, 2018, the company announced projects to introduce their own digital coin – the Ethereum-based utility token STRYKZ. With Figo’s help, the company intends to distribute its STRYKZ token through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
“Users will be rewarded STRYKZ by contributing to the overall in-game experience and growth of Football-Stars,
and they can use the tokens to experience special functionalities or unlock features such as exclusive access to
the platform’s VIP club.” the company said.
To date, there is a growing number of celebrities who have supported ICOs. Who will be next?
