Abra Mobile Wallet Inclusion and BBVA Positive Nod: Ripple Keeps Shining

Ripple ’s XRP is among other leading cryptocurrencies that have been included in Abra’s all-in-one cryptocurrency wallet and exchange, the first of its kind in the world. The wallet lets you buy, store and invest in 20 cryptocurrencies all in one place. It can be funded with fiat currencies as well as via the American Express credit card.

The Abra wallet is available on iOS and Google Play Store. It allows users to convert between cryptocurrencies with no transaction fees and without limitations. The wallet offers yet another avenue for XRP holders to trade their tokens and will be quite welcome in the Ripple community. Other cryptocurrencies which were added include Vertcoin, OmiseGo, Qtum, Zcash, Litecoin, Golem, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic. This was in addition to Ethereum and Bitcoin which were already being supported by the wallet.

Ripple expressed its optimism on Twitter, terming the inclusion as a step forward towards RP’s growing global liquidity.

We’re happy to see $XRP added to @abraglobal’s new mobile wallet app and exchange and the continued momentum for XRP’s growing global liquidity.”

The positive news kept coming for Ripple with Spanish banking conglomerate, BBVA, releasing a statement in which it affirmed that its recent tests with Ripple have been successful. BBVA confirmed that it had successfully tested XRP in facilitation of cross-border transactions between Europe and Latin America, the two regions where it has a huge presence.

In a recent interview, BBVA Compass CEO Onur Genc expressed his optimism with cryptocurrencies adding that the bank, which is the second largest in Spain, plans on taking advantage of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain to stay ahead of its peers.

We think something really big is happening in this sector, and we want to be at the forefront. A successful string of moves can possibly catapult BBVA into the public eye within the US financial services sector.”

BBVA is just one of the ever-rising institutions to endorse Ripple for cross-border transfers. With the likes of Western Union, MoneyGram and Fleetcor all using Ripple’s platform for funds transfers, Ripple is positioning itself as the undisputed market leader.
